Times change, pronunciations change, and dialects right along with them. Hell, given how the diverse remnants of populations came together and are now dispersing again in this setting, the common language would probably be much more polyglot in phonology and, in other words, it's not something to police. Besides, I don't think anyone would have trouble OOCly understanding who/what Frankie was referring to.

That's possibly the most pedantic wee post I've ever seen, Nyusha :)

So, in the spirit then of pedantry, the pronunciation in the video refers to the word æon. I would never spell the word pronounced as "aeon". If you drop the diphthong, then just put "eon".

AEON can pronounce AEON however they like. AEON is neither eon or æon. And, as Frankie's more or less given that pronunciation, and AEON has more or less corroborated it, then I'm going to wager it's now officially pronounced the way Frankie says it :D

I mean it about that diphthong too.

There was no trouble in the OOC understanding as what was being referenced. I shared these common pronunciations to which many people identify with raise awareness. I myself am not the creator of these common pronunciations. I had made no comments in the sharing of these two pronunciations. They were shared for the sake of raising awareness of the common over the uncommon. I only bothered with this, because yes, it did throw my mind for a bit of loop hearing it pronounced in a different manner and was aware of the possibilities of the same with other people. There has been at times some OOC dialog which occurs amoung people over how their own character says "AGIS". Some interestingly enough will speak AGIS, out in letter format. Being A.G.I.S. some ironically connect with Aegis many due to the many incarnations of it in science/cyberpunk fiction. In regards to AEON many think in terms of AEON Flux and other common forms associated with science fiction and cyberpunk. It is all up to the individual though regarding such things. My postings here were done to raise awareness and point out these common pronunciations. In regards to the whole recording Frankie put together she did an excellent job of it, as she did the last. If anybody believes that I somehow magically think it was shit, they are sadly mistaken in their own assumptions of my true opinion.
