After meeting with the Lindens in regards to InSilico's future, we have been able to come to a deal that will hopefully get us to a point where we can keep the sims open into the future, and with any luck...self-sustaining again. It's going to be a lot of work, and no doubt there will be some issues along the way. Yet this was the best of possible options to get InSilico open again soon...and within the control of those that have been involved with it for years.
I'm not too sure if I am allowed to discuss the terms of the deal. To be on the safe side I won't get into it the fine details. Just suffice to say that we've been given a period of time to hopefully recoup the losses that this lock-out has incurred for the sims. Once the transfer of ownership documents are received and completed, the sims will be reopened again (they did mention this could take a day or two, so please just a little more patience).
As far as current renters are concerned; your time will be honored and we will work with you in the days ahead as we institute a new rental system. All prims on the sims will remain intact, including Skills'. Once the sims are reopened, you may choose to stay, or you can pick up your prims...While we certainly understand that this situation may have dissuaded you from renting within InSilico, we do hope that you will continue to do so into the future. However please understand that since we do not have access to Skill's account and Linden dollars, we will not be able to issue refunds on current rental times with the current system. Please do NOT try to renew with the current boxes in your rentals. We will be replacing them as soon as possible.
For those that sent us messages offering financial support, we are very much appreciative. Please do not send any of the admin staff direct Linden payments. If you really want to help, and so choose to, there will be a place to donate at the LZ once the sims are open again. Short of that, the absolute best way you can help is to simply return to RP as normal. Bring your friends, tell people about InSilico and make it the place that people want to visit again.
Note: There is obviously a strong financial tone to this message, and that's not something that I particularly care for. Unfortunately that's just the reality of the situation. The sims were not locked due to financial reasons, but with the transfer we are now having to start again without the cushion that we had before. Hopefully we will be able to get things back on track in the time that we have been given so that we will not have to worry about it going forward.
Time will tell...
