Mono is a Wash: Quotes by the Lindens

We've run some benchmarks to compare the performance of the original scripting engine and the Mono VM. When we run the tests side by side we found that Mono is up to 220x faster than LSL2. These benchmarks were math intensive scripts usually used to evaluate performance. It should be noted that for ordinary scripts the gains are much more humble.

insilico goes mono

i just recompiled all of my scripts to mono, so the sim performance (which is constant at max) will be even better. i hope the vendors will go mono soon aswell.. more laglessness for us:) and im still working on improving viewer fps.

btw, good to see the rules discussion so active! wtg.. i hope we can define the ruleset and kick off rp soon.

A busy month

I was even too busy to post on the blog :P The City is growing fast while the Todo list is getting longer and longer =) Theres a whole new SIM, INSILICO EAST waiting to be worked on.

I have tested several combat systems but couldnt find one that fits our needs.

DCS2 is a lag monster, CCS wont work at our altitude, i dont like the look of RPS (maybe i can design a custom hud with rps scripts? but the site looks a bit weird too..) OCS needs… Continue

After some little regeneration we continued work on the city. as you - observant citizen - might have already noticed, the global lighting changed slightly to a brighter, more white light and the texture fairy started replacing the temp textures here and there with better ones (i don't want to say final hehe). Rez Magazine Review & Interview
